“Sleepy Time” sequence; puts kids to sleep
First, it captivates the child by gently refocusing their attention from their busy day, to their relaxation time through the DVD’s use of fuzzy baby animal antics. Baby animals mesmerize children, as Captain Kangaroo has proven in years past.

Second, it fully engages the child’s attention through the antics of fuzzy baby animals, named those “Crazy Chicks” The cozy town of Sleepy Dorm serves as a lush and beautiful backdrop, which is enhanced with Mozart music (the Mozart Effect). PARENTS, there’s even something for you: look closely and you’ll see a parody on some historic, and recognizable names, and images.

Third, the child begins to feel the effects of the scientific framework, which is embedded, in a most clever way, into the pacing of the action (gradually slows) and through rich visuals, colors, textures, special sounds, and sound effects.

Forth, the child should be out in 20 minutes, but the “Sleepy Time” segment runs a full 39 minutes, and when done is engineered to shut off automatically. This special engineering encoding ensures that the DVD plays only once, blocking the DVD from ‘all night play’.
